In 2020, we embarked on a project with BarberStylist, a startup appointment booking app designed for barbers and hair stylists. The goal was to bridge the gap between barbershop apps and salon booking apps, creating a unified platform for haircare professionals and their clients.
The owner of BarberStylist, a hair care professional, recognized a gap in the market. Existing booking apps catered to either barbers or stylists but not both. Our challenge was to design a platform that would cater to both barbers and stylists, making it easier for them to manage their businesses while also providing a seamless experience for their clients.
After several brainstorming sessions, we established the main goals for the project:
After months of gathering insights into the haircare industry, we assembled a development team consisting of two graphic designers (including myself), one programmer, and one copywriter. I also took on the role of Project Manager and assisted with quality assurance. Together, we designed a hybrid mobile app that runs on both Android and iOS operating systems.
In 2020, the BarberStylist website and app were launched after a lengthy approval process, providing a comprehensive solution for barbers and hair stylists to manage their businesses and for clients to book appointments with ease.
The successful launch of the BarberStylist app demonstrates the power of a well-executed project that addresses market gaps and meets the needs of both professionals and clients. If you're looking to streamline your business operations and enhance client satisfaction, consider how a tailored app can make a significant difference.
